What is coaching?
According to the International Coach Federation professional coaching is an ongoing partnership that helps clients produce fulfilling results in their personal and professional lives. Through the process of coaching, clients deepen their learning, improve their performance, and enhance their quality of life. Coaching accelerates the client's progress by providing greater focus and awareness of choice.
How is coaching different from psychotherapy?
Coaching is not psychotherapy. Coaching does not focus on emotional healing or treating cognitive or emotional diagnoses. Coaching cannot effectively treat psychological issues such as depression, and should not be used as a substitute for psychotherapy. Coaching is supportive, structured, and goal oriented help that focuses on clarifying and accomplishing your goals.
Personal coaching works on maximizing one's potential and on creating optimal functioning.
The difference between personal coaching and psychotherapy is similar to the difference between a personal trainer who focuses on building strength and a physical therapist that focuses on treating an injury. Extensive professional experience and training, is the focus at RISE ABOVE WELLNESS CENTER. We can help you decide whether coaching or a multi tier approach is best for you.
